HILLCREST 2016 – A VISION FOR OUR FUTURE

Dear Hillcrest Members,

2006 has been a great year with the addition of 42 new member families. It was really nice going into the spring golf season with a full membership, and we currently have six people on our waiting list. The 2006 Board has tried to take a conservative approach with the club’s funds this year, seeking to get all of our Board designated obligations fully funded and establishing a reserve. However, we know that there are still many things that we can do to make Hillcrest a better facility and playing there a more enjoyable experience. We believe that in order for improvements to happen in an orderly fashion, it is important to establish a long term (10- year) plan that can act as a roadmap for this Board and future Boards to follow. We have already heard numerous suggestions from many of you, but we want everyone to have a chance to participate in this process. At this stage of the planning process there are no bad ideas, there are only ideas. So, if you have an idea(s) that you feel has merit, please submit it
to Chuck at the Club or a Board member by October 1 (list on the web site at
www.hccadel.com). You can also email the clubhouse from this site. Below is the current list of ideas that are on the table. They are not in any order of priority.  Please give us your ideas and also help us by listing the top 5 priorities as you envision them.  Thank you for your participation.

  • Finish building new greens.
  • Move #9 green 25-30 yards south to make better hole and allow for parking lot expansion.
  • Move #18 tee to the east side of the fairway to eliminate congestion on #4 and #18 tee box and allow #4 tee to be moved back (at times).
  • Retain existing tee boxes but professionally level the areas and either reseed or resod.
  • Build new tee boxes with a similar look throughout. Landscaping block, flowers, etc. Newer tees could be retained but given a similar look.
  • Build new maintenance shed (this one has actually been needed for years).
  • Build another cart shed.
  • Grade #8 fairway to make the hole more receptive to shots over the pond and lady’s tee shots.
  • Build an alternate tee for #16. There is a fairly natural spot 40-50 yards back and left of the existing #7/16 tee box that would create a totally different look for second time around.
  • Build Ladies/Senior tee for #15. Again, there is a natural spot in front of the existing tee that would provide for a shot over the gully at about the same yardage as #6.
  • Build shade awning over deck and patio so those areas can be enjoyed.
  • Build an on-course restroom.
